Spectrobes hits the Wii

Who remembers Spectrobes? It’s the Disney franchise we went pretty strong on back when it launched in 2007, as we met with the big boss of the brand. Well today, Spectrobes is back- this time for the Wii.

Origins brings the series to Wii, with a new story that reveals secrets from the past through flashbacks of significant events.

The game offers more detailed three-dimensional graphics and all new gameplay features. Players use the Wii’s controls to explore much bigger worlds that they found in Spectrobes before, excavate three-dimensional fossils, battle in real time and unravel a new story while discovering the key to preventing a galactic threat.

There are more than 100 monsters to excavate, awaken, train and use in battle, and the game has both one-player or two-player co-op in battle – one player controls either of the human characters, while the other controls a Spectrobe.

Online leaderboards on the Wii system also let players compare their excavation and battle abilities with others players worldwide. It seems they’ve thought of everything this time round.

Spectrobes: Origins is available in stores from today. Find more on the game here! and check out further videos below
